Robert Francis Vaughn (born November 22, 1932) is an American actor noted for stage, film and television work. His best known roles include the suave spy Napoleon Solo in the 1960s television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., wealthy detective Harry Rule in the 1970s television series The Protectors, grifter and card sharp Albert Stroller in the BBC television series Hustle (which ran for eight series in the UK between 2004 and 2012, Vaughn appearing in all but one of the 48 episodes), as Lee in the feature film The Magnificent Seven and as the voice of Proteus IV, the computer in the feature film The Demon Seed. Between January and February 2012, Vaughn played Milton Fanshaw in the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street, a new love interest for Sylvia Goodwin.
