David Batty (born 2 December 1968 in Leeds, West Yorkshire) is an English retired professional football player who played in a defensive midfield position. He is most famous for playing for Leeds United and Newcastle United, as well as being capped for the England national football team and missing the last penalty versus Argentina in the 1998 World Cup.
