Patrice Latyr Evra (born 15 May 1981) is a Senegalese-born French footballer, who plays for English Premier League side Manchester United and the French national team. He is a left wingback who can also operate on the left wing. The son of a diplomat, Evra was born in Dakar, Senegal, and arrived in Europe through Brussels from Senegal when he was six years old. He was raised in Les Ulis, Essonne, France, where he lived with his family from 1984 to 1998 before seizing his first footballing opportunity leading him to Marsala, Sicily, Italy.
